Where Can I Find Grace?
Living in an evil world
“But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.” [Genesis 6:8]
Thank God for His righteousness.
In California, State Attorney General Rob Bonta’s wife introduced a bill that criminalizes ordinary citizens from exposing people committing fraud, in direct opposition to confronting anyone caught in the midst of wrongdoing.
We’d caught my son hiding on the stairs, his face covered in chocolate. He denied eating chocolate while desperately trying to hide the wrappers. Nothing to see here, move along.
In Genesis 6, we read about the world, corrupt and fallen, wickedness abounding, and God says to the world, “the wickedness of man is great in the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart is only evil continually.”
How was Noah able to find grace while surrounded by evil?
Noah was a righteous man, blameless among men, walking faithfully with God.
The earth was filled with violence. God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; because all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth. [Gen 6:9, 11-12]
The world around us is falling apart. We can have peace in the midst of the corruption if we become like Noah, righteous, blameless in God’s sight, walking faithfully with God. That can only happen by the power of the Holy Spirit, after we yield our lives to Christ.
“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. “[Colossians 3:1-3]
God, in my discouragement, help me to rise above the evil. Help me be righteous and blameless before you, walking faithfully with you daily.
