I've Been Redeemed
Spiritual Blessings 4
“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;” [Ephesians 1:7 KJV]
Outside the market, looking like a vending machine, there is a recycling machine. You feed bottles and cans into it, and when you’re finished, it spits out a receipt to take inside to redeem.
Jesus Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law and forgives our sins.
On the road to Emmaus, Jesus met two disciples who were sad and discouraged.
“It’s been three days since the chief priests and rulers condemned Jesus to death, then crucified Him. Are you the only one unaware of these things? We went to the tomb, but His body was gone.”
Jesus then began to minister the Word to them.
“Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.” [Luke 24:26-27 KJV]
Jesus promised never to leave or forsake us, even when we are sad and discouraged. He will minister His Word to us when we’re depressed or happy.
Jesus encouraged them to recall what they knew: that Christ would suffer and die, and that He would rise again on the third day. It was in communion with Jesus that they experienced revelation.
“Didn’t our hearts burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? [Luk 24:32 KJV]
When have you experienced distance from Jesus? How does spending time in His Word help us?
God, talk with me today, walk with me,
open the Word so it may burn within me, too.
